AdiIRC - Bug #5785 (New): I've encountered an issue on Windows 11 with AdiIRC across all versions...

Hello

I purchased a new PC for €1900 in December 2022 and took the opportunity to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 11. Since the purchase of the PC, I've been experiencing daily "icon jumps" on the desktop. Occasionally, the small arrow at the bottom left of each icon disappears, or it is replaced by other icons.

I have formatted and reinstalled Windows 11 three times, but the problem persists.

I also investigated the programs I use to see if the issue could be related to them or even to the 2-port switch for connecting two PCs to the same screen. The switch was unplugged, and I directly connected the screen to the tower, but the problem persists.

I disconnected the graphics card and replaced it with the onboard graphics of the motherboard, but the icon issue still exists.

Today, I started a new system test with AdiIRC. I use AdiIRC every time the PC is on, so it's on 12h/7. This morning, I decided to turn it off and keep it off for the day, and the icon bug did not occur this time.

I turned on AdiIRC around 4:30 PM, and 15 minutes later, the icon issue appeared. I immediately restarted the PC, decided not to turn on AdiIRC, and repeated the process. I turned on AdiIRC again at 7:51 PM, and at 8:05 PM, the issue occurred once more.

It seems like the bug might be related to AdiIRC, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone else using Windows 11 (22H2 and 23H2) experienced a similar problem?

Could the issue be related to the AdiIRC systray system? (Mine has three checkboxes selected in the systray section.)

Regards

AdiIRC - Feature #5779 (New): Add IRCnet's reop (+R) support to Channel editor.
https://dev.adiirc.com/issues/5779
2023-09-26T14:26:52Z
Tomasz Nowak

IRCnet network has a special reop mode (+R) which stores hostmasks in same fashion as banlist, exempts and invites, which are for used to regain op in the channel if it becomes opless. Would be nice to be bale to edit it in Channel editor same as +b/e/i - see https://www.ircnet.com/articles/reop for more info. Probably best implemented based on ircd version (>=2.11.0).

Thanks.

AdiIRC - Feature #5601 (New): Custom nicknames in nicklist
https://dev.adiirc.com/issues/5601
2022-07-18T13:52:23Z
JD Byrnes

Sometimes it's nice to be able to display nicknames differently to the actual stored nickname.
This is evident in many clients, and some add-ons for mIRC such as nickLUST.

eg. on IRC8 servers, Guest nicknames are actually >nick, but clients display them as Guest_nick (there are many other examples)

A simple callback function would be great, or even as an option.

alias nicklist {
return $iif($left($1, 1) == >, $+(Guest_,$right($1, -1)), $1)
}

It would be a bonus to be able to specify a nick icon in the callback that's not saved permanently, and override the default icons list. Callback would need to be called on adding to list, and when user away status/channel mode changes. Perhaps even with a command to refresh the nicklist to check for changes.

A feature that i use to love in mIRC was having the non active editboxes to be colored differently than the active one

Would be great to see it on adiirc

thank you

AdiIRC - Bug #5586 (New): 2 bugs when running the new AdiIRC Beta of May 14

The 1st bug, it appears on Status from the IRC server joined:

[15:36:37] * off Unknown command
[15:36:37] * off Unknown command
[15:36:37] * off Unknown command
[15:36:37] * off Unknown command
[15:36:37] * off Unknown command
[15:36:37] * off Unknown command
...
The number is very large, it hardly stops

The second bug:

off *:SNOTICE:*Client connecting*91.169.....*: {
echo -at 91.169... is connected: 4 $4 - $1-
}

Warning: this script must not be modified, you must leave "off " and not "on "

maybe the two bugs are the same error because both are an "off" error

I restored the old adiirc from March 2022

AdiIRC - Feature #5567 (New): echo-message delay before msg appears/sent.

Hi, I notice a small delay after I type the msg and press enter, the line goes black for few ms before it appears in chan/query, was that done on purpose? It is possible to disable the delay completely? That's the only reason I keep echo-message disabled and I still use a script for znc.in/self-message.

Thanks.

AdiIRC - Feature #5329 (New): Per-channel encoding and smart encoding
https://dev.adiirc.com/issues/5329
2021-05-28T07:22:44Z
Roman Korolev

Is it possible to add per-channel encoding and not per-server?
And maybe more... Is it possible to make a "smart" encoding, like it's done in kvIRC: receive channel/server encoding AND UTF-8, send only in channel/server encoding.

Hi

By that it happens that administrator click on the url from the notice of the spamfilter. But no luck the character ' is at the end of the url which gives: https://site.com/i/img_5e4b1ad9eefcd.gif'

can you remove it?

AdiIRC - Feature #4166 (New): Quick Switch
https://dev.adiirc.com/issues/4166
2018-10-24T17:15:58Z
Krystinalynn Maria

This is purely a suggestion and doesn't need to be implemented. But it might be something useful if it were.

A quick switch function, where pressing a certain key combo (like alt+g) would bring up a small input box in the center of the client window. As users type into the input box, a list of open windows (chan, custom, privmsg, server) is presented and filtered down as the user types until a match is found. When the user hits the enter key, the input is immediately dismissed and focus is switched to the suggested window. A function like this would be immensely useful for any user who is connected to two or more networks.

For privmsg and channel windows, they would be appended with the server window name (I.E: for a privmsg to QueenElsa on Undernet, the suggested list would display Undernet.QueenElsa; for a channel #adiirc on Freenode, it'd display Freenode.#adiirc)

The quick switch would honor the user's network name from the server list. (If the use label as network name option is enabled for that given network.)

Anyway, just some food for thought for the future. :)

AdiIRC - Feature #4037 (New): adhoc hide inline images

Would be great to have an option to hide displayed inline images.

Somthing like an "x" or right mouse button "hide" would be great. Maybe with a possibility to show them again.

AdiIRC - Feature #3879 (New): A few suggestions to make AdiIRC more usable without a form border
https://dev.adiirc.com/issues/3879
2018-04-28T01:08:53Z
Tib Qu

With 'Form Border' set to 'None', (options > windows > general) you lose the ability to resize your AdiIRC window and can only drag the window around by holding Alt while dragging.

- I would like an option to have the window still be resizeable when hovering your mouse over a corner to drag resize.

- I would also like to be able to drag the window around without the need to hold Alt. My suggestion would be to have the menubar act as a surface to grab in order to drag the window.

- Since you also lose the minimize, maximize and close buttons with disabling the form border, I would like an option to have these buttons on the menubar. The option would just replace the buttons currently present on the menubar.

Alternatively to all of this, adding the option for a customizeable form border would solve all these issues in a more elegant way.
