AdiIRC .NET 2.0 build not functioning on Windows 98SE

I have a machine with Windows 98SE. Old, I know. Was wondering if I could hop on IRC with it. I saw AdiIRC still had a .NET 2.0 build, and .NET 2.0 supports 98SE. Does not seem to open. I can see the hourglass cursor for a second or two but after that nothing happens.

AdiIRC relies on some windows features and APIs that are only available on windows XP and higher.

You might be able to find an older version of AdiIRC that still works here https://adiirc.com/download.php?b=true.
