separator line bug?
Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
with separator line i mean the line that show you where you was after you had adiirc active. after a few days whole time adiirc is open and some days used, some days not active, the separator line that should show you where you had read/you was reading after you have the window last activ, this gray line between 2 text-irc lines, will show after EVERY writing line in the chat window. i dont know if its after the log has a hugh size or for example after 7 days, but its broken whole time i have adiirc long time enough on. if i reboot the pc (never rly tested it only restart adiirc without pc reboot) and start adiirc, all works fine, until the unknown time. someone known what i mean? i didnt find anything in the options that could be set these separator line. (sry for my bad english gramar :S)

What version of AdiIRC are you using?
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Oh that's really old, I suggest upgrade to 1.9.6 and if that doesn't work, try the latest 1.9.7 beta, almost the entire textview was rewritten, so any bugs should be gone.

i believe this was in all versions i had, also the version i had before the 1.9.5. but i will do it we will see, ty for the moment.

short update: 5 days ago, all works at the moment, the 7 day cap is near :) ... add small question: what must excatly happen, that the line appear/disappear? the whole AdiIRC windows is clicked/active and then the active channel that was clicked/last "open"? and is there an delay for 1-100seconds that the line could appear after switching back for example to browser, or should it rly be all instant?
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Glad to hear that :>
Whenever a new message arrive to a window without focus, the unread line marker is applied if it's not already applied and it stays there until the window is activated (gets focused).
It would be possible to add a delay, is that necessary?
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
no!! xD .. for me its right how it is, the question was, because i was meanting that sometimes if i switch away from adiirc to whatever, the line didnt appear excatly after the next unread line (mostly 1-5 lines later) but not everytime... so i have still an eye on that too :)
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Hm, it should be instant as soon as you tab away from the channel or the main window.
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
now it happens! what should i looking for? how much lines? atm only in one channel, so i would think its a cap of the whole line in an chat window, could that be? is there an way to copy all lines into a document so i must not count the line per hand? xD
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Uhm, you can rightclick the window in the Treebar/Switchbar, then click Buffer, then click save as, it wont help much though.
First, are you using the latest 1.9.7 beta?
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
no first i wanted to try the 1.9.6, as i said before, i am thinking it was all versions :/ ... and its still only the one channel, the others are (at the moment) working right.
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Oh okay, because it sounds like it happens when the buffer is reaching the maximum and starts removing lines, the unread linemarker is not moved down accordingly.
I fixed that in 1.9.7 beta :)
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
aahhh ok, theres an buffer for every chat window? and, if i close whole server with irc rooms, and start them, the buffer is still full? ... then i will download the beta version an then i must wait again about 5 days i think xD , ty again for the moment :)
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Yes each window has it's own buffer, you can type /clear in the window to reset the buffer or press the "Clear" menuitem in the Buffer menu, that should fix the issue when it happens (until the buffer is full again).
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
ok mhm typing /clear isnt what i want, cause restart would make the same, but i want scroll up all since i start the chatwindow :) ... the beta version dotnet 2.0 or 4.5 and the last one from 03.08., that you mean with 1.9.7? edit nvm found it ^^
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
i downloaded the 1.9.7. but its only the .exe file? no install? dont understand right what i should do to start beta client and i dont find faq too it :(
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Yeah it's just a portable exe, you can run it as is, or you can rename it to AdiIRC.exe and put it your installed folder.
You can also just type /betaup in 1.9.6 and let AdiIRC install it for you.
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
ty have copy it into folder, but not renamed and it worked?! but nvm it runs all perfect, we will see in few days if you can close this thread ;)
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
mhm i think it happend again ~ 4987 lines. i think a few lines early didnt know exactly but about 10 min before i start chatting with some, it has worked, and after i was searching 2 min something on wiki i recognize it. atm i will let it run and dont clear the buffer, but i think, if i clear it, it will work. any ideas? ... use me as test-dummy :D, if you want testing if it happens again near 4900 lines, i clear it and say if it happens again there, if you want :)
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
This is with the beta?
Can you show me a screenshot of the problem or maybe try explain a little further what this means "this gray line between 2 text-irc lines, will show after EVERY writing line in the chat window", e.g do you mean there are multiple lines at the same time?
RE: separator line bug? - Added by Per Amundsen about 9 years ago
Nevermind, I have been able to replicate this issue, I will fix it for next beta, thanks for testing also good catch :)
RE: separator line bug? - Added by adi fan about 9 years ago
ok :D ... atm im fine with the /clear all 4-5 days ^^ but i will download the new beta and test it/have an eye on it .
