A way I found to replicate this
(All window switching done in treebar)
1. connect to freenode, and identify
2. join a channel that requires you to be identified such as #android
3. /quit
4. From a different window, such as status /server irc.freenode.net
5. You'll be unable to rejoin #android and it will bounce you to #android-unregistered
6. Click the window in the tree bar for #android
7. AdiIRC crashes

Step 6 should be RIGHT click, not click.
