Description
Try /query <any nick> and give a look at it's titlebar: it appears the "$channel" identifier
Today some people tried to send messages in a channel, but the messages came to my private instead. But i don't know how it happened (the impression i had is: it happened after a reconnection). Also, it happened only on the previous beta version.

I discovered when resetting Window Options, the private window title text is set to the default channel window text instead of private, the default channel window text contains $channel, it is not supported for private windows, but you can manually change the text in Options -> Windows -> Window titles -> Query windows, see also #3843.
If you have any information how to reproduce the private vs channel message issue or if you feel like the issue went away in the last beta, let me know.

Maybe the issue doesn't exist on AdiIRC.
That issue is rare (didn't appear often), and there is a probability that few people around the IRC is using an other IRC Client (outdated version or even script) with some bugs.

- Assignee set to Per Amundsen
It's possible, might also have been a bug in previous beta, there was some issues with your own nick and joining channels, which could have confused AdiIRC to think a channel message was a private message.
Closing it for now, just update if it happens again :)
