Feature #5166
openAlternative Nicks: Better Organizing: Buttons To Rearrange & Edit
0%
Description
Server List > General > Nick + Alternative Nicks: Two Up\ Down buttons to move the Alt Nicks entries up\ down would be super useful [& an Edit button maybe]; along with the current Add\ Remove of course. I find it painstaking to change my list of Alt Nicks [re-order\ re-organize etc.] like 5 Nicks in each of the 4 servers I frequent, & changing my main Nick messes up the order of every other one (since I have different collections of Nicks on different Servers), when I change my main Nick ! & I usually have to delete all my Alternative Nicks & re-add them one-by-one. Currently, it takes too much effort to re-organize all of them when I change my Main Nick. I have 3 sets of Nick Lists that I juggle with & sometimes they're different & server-specific. I get disconnected a lot, so it cycles through all of them —I have a crappy connection, something wrong /w my NIC.
What would be even better would be draggable entries in Alternative Nicks. That would fix the whole re-ordering fiasco & wouldn't need a GUI rewrite.
I tried backing up the Config.ini with the diff Nicks but that didn't work too well, I didn't know what I was even doing. I have the orderings saved to a text file & I manually change between them. Please add Draggable or more Buttons (Up\ Down + Edit) to the interface please.

This is on my radar, but would like to mention that alternative nicks for the Serverlist are saved in networks.ini: You could easily script a solution using $read or $readini and /write or /writeini.
The only problem then is forcing adiirc to reload networks.ini which it can only do when opening the Serverlist dialog, I could add a way to do that through scripting if you are interested.

That would be greatly appreciated, thanks ! But honestly, I'm not very good with scripting so I'd rather wait for the feature to be implemented. P.S: Alright, I'll give it a try :]
