3.9 update issue.
Added by w 0 about 4 years ago
The other day AdiIRC notified me of an update so I installed it on the 30th. Today I get on the pc and Windows 10 is telling me that it had been removed from my PC. Not sure if it's a new anti-virus definition update causing this or not. I just wanted to bring this to some attention.

False positives happens a lot with AdiIRC, make sure you have your anti virus definitions updated.
You can also submit the file to your anti virus provider for a false positive analysis and/or you can whitelist the AdiIRC folder/AdiIRC.exe in your anti virus program.

Yeah, I did. Just thought it was odd that it would randomly do it out of the blue like that.

AdiIRC implements a lot of functionality using many windows features and windows APIs, I suspect to a anti virus program it can look like it has patterns similar to various viruses and trojans, specially because many of them are controlled using irc bots.
In this case it thinks AdIIRC is a type of keylogger which is written in the same language as AdiIRC. Since AdIIRC implement various options for making shortcuts, global shortcuts, keydown/keyup events etc, the anti virus probably got confused.
False positives for AdiIRC has happened hundreds of times in the past in almost all anti virus programs, as recently as a few weeks ago actually.
Nothing to worry about, just annoying.
