Identify a Nickname so you can be automatically voiced (+v) when you join a channel
Added by Mike McDermott about 1 year ago
Hi,
How can you set it up in AdiIRC so you will automatically be voiced (+v) when you join a channel or a specific channel on a network? I was shown how to perform this with Mirc but I use AdiIRC and I can't seem to locate how to do this.
Thanks,
TD

Add your server to the Serverlist, there you can setup Login Method, e.g SASL.
If you have problems with being identified before joining a channel, you can use the Delay join option in the Serverlist Channels tab.

Hi Per Amundsen,
Thank you for the reply. How long of a delay should I set it to?
Thanks,
TD

It depends on how fast/slow the auth is, you can try 2 seconds, if it's not enough, increase it.

Ok Thank you. What do you mean by "SASL" mean?
Also, can you set it up so when you join a server it will automatically join channels that you want in a particular order?
Thanks.

SASL is an nick authenticate method used by many servers, e.g https://libera.chat/guides/sasl.
in the Serverlist Channels tab, you can add your channels, they will be joined in the order they are added, there is buttons to move them up or down to give them higher/lower priority.

Thanks for all your help. I'll play around with the settings.
