Way to cancel messages due to anti-flood?

Added by Allison B about 4 years ago

Had a couple of incidents where I'd inadvertently copied too much text and pasted and it sent. Immediately /quit and waited until I figured they'd all failed to send to channel, but evidently they were still sending after I'd reconnected. I would have almost rather been disconnected by the network automatically rather than spam my friends if that would have flushed the send buffer.

is there a way to flush the buffer of out-going messages that have triggered the anti-flood logic?

When you disconnect, all buffers are cleared, but the server will continue to forward all messages your client already sent to other users before disconnecting.

The server might throttle or delay some of them so it looks like you are sending new messages, bur you can verify through Menubar -> File -> Rawlog that no new messages are sent from the client to the server.

Not quite an answer to your question, but a way to keep the problem from happening in the 1st place. Normally if the clipboard contains a line-ending, the entire contents of the clipboard is sent to the server. However, if you change Options/Editbox option for "editbox lines" to "automatic", your text won't be sent to channel until you press the <enter> key
