I can't see the full list of bans

Added by Charlie Sorrow over 3 years ago

For over a month, after typing the command

/mode #channel +b

I can't see the full list of bans. Only the bans restored after the split on May 18, 2021 are displayed. The channel is also accessed through the applet on the website and the ban list is displayed correctly there. I also installed HexChat and the problem doesn't occur on it either. Only on AdiIRC. What is going on? How to fix it?

I connect via VPN, but disabling it doesn't help. There is also nothing to disable the scripts used.

On what network/channel can this be reproduced?

Do you see all the bans in Menubar -> File -> Rawlog -> Network?

Server name: chatik.idx.pl
Port: 667
Channel: #towarzyski

I can't see all the bans in Rawlog.
But as I mentioned before, when accessing the channel via an applet on the website and in the HexChat IRC client, this problem doesn't occur.

I was not able to get the ban list on this channel, I assume you need to be +o.

I created a channel on this network, then added 50 bans and performed /mode #channel +b and all the ban masks was shown, I also joined another user to keep the channel open, then disconnected/reconnected and performed /mode #channel +b again to verify.

If all the bans are not in your Rawlog, the server must not be sending them, can't think of any reason why that would happen.

Yes, I have +o on this channel.
So how to explain the fact that I am able to get the full list of bans on the HexChat client?

Might be some sort of throttling, not sure.

Do you see any errors in the "Debug" tab of the Rawlog?

hexchat also has a Rawlog, might be some clues to compare the raw output/input from both clients, at least it could tell if the missing bans are at the head or tail of the list.

I just noticed something. In AdiIRC, after entering the command "/ mode #channel + b", the ban list is displayed in the network tab. When I looked in the * .log file of the network tab, it turned out that there was a complete record of the ban list. However, it is not displayed in full in the network tab in the application window.

Here the ban list is saved to the * .log file of the network tab. Since I could not copy the contents of the network tab window, I separated the missing bans with a double dashed line. Above this line there are bans that do not display the network tab in the application window in the window.

Why aren't all bans visible in the network tab window in the application window, and why are all the bans displayed in the log?

I see, you are most likely hitting the default maximum buffer lines.

And that is the correct solution! Sometimes the darkest place is under the candle… Thank You!
