Prevent text wrapping when auto-hiding nicklist appears?

Added by Nosh tzy over 7 years ago

I'm loving AdiIRC so far, but I'm always trying to find ways to create more horizontal space. Turning off the nick column, scroll bar, and setting the nicklist to autohide have been great successes so far, but every time the nick list appears on mouseover, it "pushes" and wraps the text in the messages pane to fit, for as long as it's visible. Is it possible to have a nicklist on auto-hide simply appear over the text of the messages pane?

Not sure if you are aware, but I recently added so if you type a nick in the Editbox, select it and then press CTRL + SPACE, the Nicklist menu for that nick opens, I also added a new command /showmenu -n <nick> to open the Nicklist menu, does that help?

I wasn't aware, it's a handy shortcut. I just started using AdiIRC today. What I meant was more of a quality-of-life thing, where the nicklist doesn't cause the message pane's text to wrap when it appears on mouseover. Or perhaps a delay for the nicklist mouseover so that the text doesn't jump around when whipping the mouse past the active window.

Oh okay, it is not possible to resize the text area without word wrapping, it was designed for that from the ground up, I will see if there is a way to allow the Nicklist to float on top without causing too many problems with various features and options.

I know it's low priority, but thanks just the same!

I tested a bunch of different things, but it didn't work out, I did however come up with some possible alternatives, but first I need to know, do you use AdiIRC with maximized channel windows or cascaded?
